Our Story

Nineteen years in the making

Some love stories happen all at once. Ours took nineteen years, a few wrong turns, and a story only God could write. But every chapter led us right here—to each other, for good.

2007

The Elevator

August 18, 2007. Move-in day at Eastern Kentucky University. We met in the elevator of our dorm. There was an instant connection—the kind of chemistry that doesn’t make sense and doesn’t need to. God put us in the same place at the same time, and nothing was ever the same.

2007–2014

The In-Between Years

Life pulled us in different directions. Different relationships, different seasons, different versions of ourselves. But we kept finding our way back to each other—late night conversations, unexpected moments, and a connection that refused to fade no matter how much time passed.

2014

A Door Closed

Sometimes you have to lose someone completely to understand what they mean to you. We went our separate ways—truly, fully. It was painful. But God had a plan. We both had growing to do, lessons to learn, and lives to build on our own before we could build one together.

2014–2024

A Decade Apart

Ten years of separate journeys. We each walked through our own storms and found our own strength. We became parents. We grew up. And through it all, somewhere deep down, the story wasn’t finished. God was just turning the page.

2025

He Chose Her. She Chose Him.

After all those years, God brought us back together. This time, we were ready. No more wrong timing, no more almost. Just two people who had finally grown into the love they always deserved. In October and November, we introduced our kids to each other—and our family began to take shape.

Feb 2026

The Question

On February 13, 2026, he asked. She said yes. After nineteen years of finding their way back to each other, it was the easiest answer she ever gave. And the most beautiful question he ever asked.

Mar 2026

Home on the Lake

On March 27, 2026—exactly three months before the wedding—we signed the papers and made it official: our lakefront home is ours. The place where we’ll say our vows, raise our family, and build everything that comes next. It was the first “ours” of many.

Jun 2026

Forever Starts Here

On June 27, 2026, surrounded by our closest family and friends on the shore of our lake in Kentucky—with Kenna, Kole, and Jaxon by our side—we’re making it official. String lights in the trees, wildflowers on the arch, bourbon by the fire pit, and our family, finally whole.

Accommodations

Where to stay

Near La Grange & Shelbyville, KY

Our property is located in the Oldham/Shelby County area. There are several hotel options within 15–30 minutes including options in La Grange, Shelbyville, and eastern Louisville. We recommend booking early as June is a popular time in Kentucky.

Downtown Louisville, KY

Downtown Louisville is approximately 30 minutes away and offers a wide range of hotels at all price points. If you’re making a weekend of it, Louisville is a fantastic city to explore—bourbon distilleries, incredible food, and rich history.

Questions & Answers

The details that matter

What should I wear?

Semi-formal / garden party attire. Think sundresses, slacks with a nice shirt, or a summer suit. We’ll be outdoors on grass near a lake, so choose shoes accordingly—stilettos and soft ground don’t mix well!

Can I bring a date?

If your invitation includes “and guest,” absolutely! Due to the intimate size of our celebration (~50 guests), we’re keeping the guest list close to our hearts.

Are kids welcome?

Yes! Kenna, Kole, and Jaxon will be right there with us, and we welcome your little ones too. There will be plenty of outdoor space for them to play.

Where do I park?

There is ample parking on the property along the gravel driveway and adjacent grass areas. We can accommodate 25+ vehicles easily.

What if it rains?

We have a rain plan! Our home is large enough to comfortably host everyone indoors if the weather doesn’t cooperate. But we’re manifesting sunshine.

Will there be food & drinks?

Absolutely. Expect a delicious buffet dinner, a full bar featuring Kentucky bourbon (of course), and a fire pit after-party with s’mores. Come hungry.
